About this work
A single-story brick house with a steep terracotta-tiled roof and white-framed windows fills the middle ground, partly screened by a large tree in white spring blossom. A dark open door and a garage bay flank a small brick chimney and skylight; low shrubs line the foundation, and a gravel path crosses the mown lawn in the foreground.
Muted terracotta, brick red and soft grey-greens are set off by the tree's pale blossom, painted in loose dabs against smoother, more descriptive brushwork on the walls and roof.
