About this work
A horned head, skull-like and elongated, lies diagonally across the lower right of the sheet, its long curved horns and jaw rendered in a few economical strokes. Long, sinuous limbs stretch away from it toward the upper left, passing a small latticed, grid-like structure, while a solid black hatched band runs along the top edge like a low ceiling or horizon.
Grainy stippled shading fills the body while the outline stays loose and unbroken, giving the whole figure a spent, collapsed weight. The heavy dark band pressing down from above and the confined, boxed space around the creature lend the drawing a somber, trapped mood.
