About this work
A horned, skull-like head hangs inverted at the top of the sheet, its long jaw baring rows of teeth beneath hollow features; below it a large clawed or fingered hand opens downward, and loose curling lines suggest a second small animal head to the left.
Rendered in scratchy, uneven ink lines over a mottled grey ground, the drawing has the raw, unfinished energy of a working sketch; the fused animal-human anatomy and toothy grin give it an eerie, dreamlike charge suited to the minotaur's monstrous side.
