About this work
Layered waves advance toward a narrow strip of wet sand, their crests curling into white foam as the tide rolls in. The horizon sits high and flat, dividing a pale overcast sky from the deeper teal of open water, with no figures, boats, or shoreline structures to interrupt the empty expanse of sea.
Cool blue-greens and grey-lilacs dominate the palette, warmed only by faint ochre tones in the wet sand at the bottom edge. Thick, loaded brushstrokes build the foam in short overlapping dashes, giving the surface a tactile, churned texture, while thinner glazes render the calmer water beyond. The overall effect is quiet and meditative despite the motion of the waves.
