About this work

Bright, sunlit color dominates the composition - reds and oranges of the fruit set against cool blues of the shutters and lavender shadows on the sill. Paint is applied in loose, faceted strokes with visible highlights, giving the still life a fresh, sun-warmed, outdoor feel.
