Smolny monastery

A Baroque building fills the left side of the composition, its pale blue-and-white facade articulated with paired pilasters and an ornate window beneath a scalloped pediment. A paved path curves along the base of the wall toward a further wing seen through the trees, while two slender birch trunks stand in the foreground on a grassy lawn to the right.

Soft blue-white walls and warm green foliage sit under dappled sunlight that rakes across the stonework, casting patterned shadows over columns and window frame. Loose, textured pastel strokes render the leaves and grass, giving the courtyard a bright, tranquil midday calm.
