About this work
Two pale, sketch-like nude figures are drawn interlocked on an empty grey field: one crouches low with legs sheathed in black, pressing its head against the shoulder of a second figure stretched flat on the ground, arm extended and face turned down. A flat band of solid red fills the upper third of the canvas, cutting the composition cleanly above the huddled bodies.
Rendered in charcoal and graphite with soft smudged shading, the bodies are built from loose contour lines rather than hard edges, giving them a fragile, unfinished feel. The stark contrast between the flat red field and the muted grey-white figures below creates a tense, somber stillness, as if the two forms are frozen mid-collapse.
