About this work
Three dancers stand grouped closely in a practice studio. The two nearest are seen from behind in pale, sleeveless tops, bare shoulders and upswept hair visible, while the third figure turns in profile, one arm reaching forward and a leg extended with the toe pointed, as if mid-stretch or partnering exercise. A fourth, fainter head is glimpsed in the haze behind them.
The scene is rendered almost entirely in a warm rose-to-violet monochrome, with only touches of ochre for exposed skin. Loose, fluid brushwork blurs the edges between the figures and the surrounding space, fusing them into a soft, unified surface that conveys the quiet concentration of practice.
