About this work
The sheet is dominated by handwritten Russian verse in dark ink, arranged in short stanzas across the center and lower half of the page. Beneath and around the text, a network of thin diagonal lines crosses the paper like a faint architectural or perspectival sketch, with small handwritten attribution notes and numbering in the bottom margin.
The palette is limited to warm off-white paper and brownish-black ink, with the pencil linework left pale and understated so the handwriting reads clearly on top. The lettering is uneven and personal, closer to a manuscript page than formal typography, while the underlying grid gives the sheet a quiet, constructed undertone. The overall impression is intimate and documentary, presenting the poem itself as the image.
