About this work
A tall steel gantry structure spans the sheet, its girders, ladders and catwalks drawn in fine grey linework. Torn green wire-mesh netting hangs draped across the upper framework like a snagged tarpaulin, while below, the ground is built up as a dark, cratered red mound, as if coal or freshly turned earth had been piled beneath the structure.
The print moves through a vertical gradient from deep green at the top, through pale grey-white at the horizon, into saturated red at the base, unifying sky, structure and ground in one wash. Fine, etched linework renders the ironwork with technical precision, while looser mesh and mound textures are stained and granular. The combination reads as an industrial site rendered with cool detachment and unease.
