About this work
A cluster of old fortress towers and a white church with a small dome rise above green trees on a far shore, their forms mirrored in the smooth water below. In the foreground a narrow wooden pier juts into the lake, its boards leading to a seated figure, while a small dark boat is moored at left near the bank.
