Mosque

A whitewashed domed building, its roof crowned with a slender crescent finial, dominates the right side of the composition, its curved walls pierced by arched windows trimmed in ochre and pink. To the left, a tree in full golden autumn foliage stands beside dark cypresses, while a low stone wall with small buttresses runs along the building's base.

Paint is applied thickly and directly, in confident, square-edged strokes that build the dome's roundness with just a few tonal shifts of cream and pale grey. Saturated cobalt sky and golden foliage set up a strong warm-cool contrast, and the bright, even sunlight gives the whole scene a crisp, cheerful clarity typical of plein-air painting.
