About this work
A near-black ground fills most of the sheet, broken by a pale vertical strip at the right edge and a wider horizontal band of scratched, grainy texture across the middle. Within that band sit short dark vertical strokes suggesting rods or bars, thin diagonal lines, and faint reversed lettering and numerals near the top.
Executed in silver pencil and mixed media, the surface is built from layered rubbing and scratching rather than drawn form, keeping the palette to near-black browns with a few pale highlights. The dense, worked texture and mechanical-looking marks give the sheet a brooding, industrial mood.
