About this work
A dense cluster of lilac-colored blossoms fills almost the entire canvas, cropped so close that only a pale vase and hints of orange ground are visible at the very bottom. Individual flowers and leaves merge into soft, overlapping masses of color with no defined edges or stems.
Cool lavender, violet, and white dominate the upper portion, meeting warmer orange and olive tones lower down where the light seems to catch the blooms. Thick, heavily textured impasto and visible palette-knife strokes build up the surface, giving the flowers a soft, dreamy glow rather than sharp botanical detail.
