About this work
A long, low horizon stretches across the composition: a weathered wooden barn with a sagging shingled roof stands at center, a dark log house with a stone chimney to the right, and a small shed at the far left. Trees and low green shore line the water's edge, with a pale strip of lake and distant tree line filling the upper half.
