About this work

A tarnished silver coffee pot with a curved spout and scrolled handle stands on a wooden ledge flanked by pomegranates. The central fruit lies split open, its rind peeled back to reveal dense clusters of glistening red seeds, with two whole pomegranates set to either side.

Strong directional light rakes across the polished metal, picking out sharp highlights against a plain gray backdrop. The pomegranate seeds are rendered with jewel-like translucency, and tight, glossy brushwork gives both silver and fruit a hyperrealistic, sculptural presence.
