About this work

A brass teapot with an ebony handle and curved spout sits on a dark wood ledge ringed by whole and halved figs. One fig is cut open in front, exposing deep pink, seed-flecked flesh, the others closed and beaded with droplets.

Warm brass and violet-brown skins sit against a pale, softly lit backdrop, giving even, gentle luminosity rather than harsh contrast. The reflective metal mirrors faint shapes of the fruit, rendered with smooth, controlled precision.
