About this work

A tall grey-green ewer with a long curved spout stands at center, paired with a smaller hammered copper jug to its right. Behind them leans a large plate painted with blue and green floral patterns, and a striped blue-and-white porcelain cup sits at lower left. In front, a pomegranate and two yellow-green pears rest on the wooden tabletop, with a small blue-and-white porcelain jar tucked in the corner.

Bright side light from the left rakes across the scene, picking out warm coppery highlights and cool grey metal against a softly scumbled beige wall. Rich greens, blues, and reds of the fruit and porcelain punctuate the muted palette, and loose, textured brushwork gives the grouping a fresh, sunlit, quietly festive feel.
