About this work
A warm brown-gold ground carries a pale, cross-hatched rectangle in the upper right, suggesting a woven screen or sunlit wall fragment, with a thin ruled line rising diagonally above it. A looping dark thread drifts across the middle distance, a faint scratched mark sits lower left, and a fine vertical line runs down through the lower right toward a small signature.
Worked in silverpoint and mixed media over a toned ground, the surface has a soft metallic sheen across the sepia wash, fine incised lines set against broad smudged tone. Light concentrates in the single pale rectangle while the rest stays in warm shadow, giving a hushed, interior mood that evokes daylight through a small window without showing any room or figure.
