It's snowing

Snow falls steadily over a village street bordered by tall bare birches and other leafless trees. On the right stands a two-story stone building with a shopfront and awning, its neighbor a smaller wooden cottage painted blue with carved trim and a fenced yard. Footprints cross the snow-covered path in the foreground, and rooftops of further houses recede into the grey distance.

The palette is limited to soft greys, whites and muted blues, with small warm notes in the timber facades. Falling snow is suggested by scattered pale dabs across the whole surface, and the light is flat and diffused, typical of an overcast snowfall. Brushwork is looser in the trees and sky, more defined in the architecture, producing a hushed, wintry stillness.
