About this work
A horse strides forward in full profile, one foreleg lifted and bent, mane and tail streaming out in long wavy locks. The body is elongated and arched, giving an impression of forward motion across an empty page with no ground line or background.
Dense cross-hatching builds volume along the neck, chest, and hindquarters, while a soft wash of grey-green and warm tan tints the body and pools into dark blotches at the hooves. Loose ink spatter scattered along the base suggests dust or motion. The interplay of precise line and diffuse color gives the drawing a graceful, animated rhythm.
