Flowers and an amphora

A tall amphora with two curved handles fills the center, its neck overflowing with narcissus and other blossoms while loose petals drift below. Instead of a stable foot the vessel tapers into fringed, tentacle-like roots that curl outward, and to its sides three seashells - a spiky murex, a spiral cone, and a coiled nautilus - rest on bare ground under stars and a crescent moon.

Fine crosshatched lines in deep blue-black build a velvety night sky, against which the pale amphora and blossoms are picked out in delicate white and touches of yellow and lilac. The hybrid vessel-creature form and starlit setting give the print a quietly surreal, dreamlike air, poised between still life and fantastical apparition.
