Figures

Two luminous vertical forms, spaced like standing figures, rise through a field of broken, directional brushstrokes in rust, mauve and sage. Below them a darker band echoes the same pale shapes as a wavering reflection, as if the pair stood at the edge of water. No faces or clothing are legible; the figures read only as columns of light.

Built almost entirely with a palette knife, the surface is a mosaic of short, choppy strokes in warm ochres and cool violets that never settle into flat color. Light spreads outward from the center, dissolving the figures into their surroundings rather than defining them, leaving a shimmering, half-abstract impression closer to sensation than description.
