About this work

She stands within a densely patterned red field of flowers, thistles and perched birds - goldfinches, hoopoes, tits - recalling a medieval tapestry. A small vignette in the upper left shows an armored rider confronting a winged, dragon-like creature.
Flat, saturated red and gold dominate, the surface almost fully covered by botanical and avian motifs.
