About this work
Seen through a many-paned window, a dusk cityscape of tiled roofs and a gilded church bell tower stretches into the haze. A stylized blue bird ornament hangs from the window's top frame, and a seagull perches on a nearby roof. On the sill below sit an open sketchbook, a teapot, a striped cup and a green apple, with a wooden palette propped at the edge.
