About this work
A cluster of high-rise towers, several still ringed by construction cranes, rises against a fading evening sky that shifts from deep blue above to a warm rose glow near the rooftops. Scattered pinpoints of window light and construction lamps dot the dark facades, while a tall, curved glass tower stands apart from the boxier structures beside it, all set above a blurred, glowing foreground.
Paint is applied thickly with dragged, dripping strokes of ochre, rust and gold suggesting reflected light spilling down the lower canvas, while the sky is laid in smoother blue and pink gradients. The contrast between the molten glow of the city lights and the calmer sky gives the skyline a hazy, atmospheric shimmer.
