About this work
A round felt yurt stands alone on dark open steppe at night, its walls and conical roof glowing warm amber as though lit from within. Two bare wooden poles lean against the felt covering, and a figure wrapped in a reddish-orange robe crouches at the entrance, one arm raised toward the head. A heavy dark mass of smoke or cloud hangs directly above the roof, merging with the night sky.
