About this work
At left, a tall black-coated, top-hatted figure with a demonic red face and a scaled, winged, tailed lower body dominates the scene, trailed by a cluster of ghostly heads and clawed monster faces. At right, a nude woman with flowing hair reclines in a swirl of orange light, a small child between her legs, while tiny stars and a dark cityscape silhouette run along the base.
The dragon-figure is built from dense black cross-hatched etching that turns almost silhouette-flat, while the woman and her radiant field are washed in warm orange and flesh tones with lighter, looser line. The contrast between the near-black menace and the glowing, vulnerable figure creates a tense standoff.
