About this work

A steel lattice transmission tower dominates a flat, semi-thawed landscape, its cables stretching toward smaller pylons on the horizon. Patches of melting snow dot a muddy brown field bordered by bare trees, with a still river running through the middle distance and a dark, wet bank in the foreground.

The palette stays close to grey, ochre, and muted brown throughout, with only faint hints of green in the distant tree line. Diffuse, even light from the overcast sky flattens shadows and softens every edge, while the paint is handled in smooth, blended passages that keep the mood subdued. The industrial structure set against the thawing land gives the scene a quiet, contemplative tension.
