About this work
A rustic wooden pier with worn railings extends over a calm lake, its planks leading toward a slender birch trunk that leans diagonally across the water. Golden and rust-colored autumn trees line the far shore, doubled in the mirror-still surface, while bare shrubs and thin branches frame the right edge of the composition.
