About this work
Rooftops, chimneys and antennas crowd the foreground of a nocturnal cityscape, stepping back toward a large domed building resembling a cathedral that rises above the roofline. Scattered windows glow amber, teal and red among the mostly dark facades, while a starry deep-blue sky stretches overhead. The vantage point looks down across the roofs, giving a layered, receding view of the sleeping city.
The palette is almost entirely cool blues and blue-greens, punctuated by small warm points of window light that read as sparks against the dominant nocturne. Forms are simplified into flat, graphic silhouettes with softly blended edges, giving the rooftops a hushed, geometric rhythm. The mood is quiet and mysterious, the stillness of a city glimpsed from above after dark.
