About this work
A long-necked bird is constructed from an open black-line lattice of triangles, circles and ellipses: a curved neck and beaked head, a round body, and thin angled legs. A solid orange-red triangle rises behind the head like a raised wing, set on a stitched, cross-hatched tan ground patterned with wavy green stripes.
Painted in flat acrylic with a fine outlining line, the palette stays black and tan except for the single hot-orange accent. The graphic, embroidery-like technique gives the bird a playful, ornamental character rather than a naturalistic study.
