About this work

A single ear fills the sheet, drawn frontally with every anatomical fold - helix, scapha, tragus, antitragus, lobule and more - pointed to by lines and named in Russian lettering around the edges. Where the ear canal opens toward the center, a small raccoon peers out from inside, labeled 'ЕНОТ' among the anatomical terms.

Fine parallel and cross-hatched lines model the cartilage's curves and inner shadow with near-photographic precision, while the raccoon is sketched more loosely, standing out against the exacting diagram around it; the deadpan scientific labeling paired with the hidden creature gives the print a dry, playful humor.
