Winter

A procession moves through a grove of pale birch trunks: a bare-chested figure wears a dark, shaggy animal mask over the head and a geometrically patterned wrap at the waist, while a hooded woman in ornamented robes stands close behind. An antlered skull hangs from a branch at upper left, and a black, horn-headed creature looms in the shadows beside a robed elder.

The palette stays almost monochrome, charcoal black, umber and dusty rose against scraped white bark, with a thin band of pink sky glowing at the top edge. Loose, dragged brushwork and heavy dark contours dissolve the line between bodies and trees, building a hushed, ritual tension.
