About this work
A dense cluster of old city rooftops and chimneys climbs toward a domed church tower, silhouetted under a thin crescent moon and a darkening sky strung with wires and antennas. Scattered windows glow in warm reds, yellows and cool pinks against the surrounding walls, and a bird sits quietly on one snow-lined ledge.
The composition is built almost entirely from cool blues and violets, with snow picked out in pale highlights along the roof edges.
