About this work
A narrow channel of dark water cuts between banks of tall golden reeds and dry grasses, its glassy surface mirroring the stalks above. A line of thin bare trees stands hazy at the back, blending with fog into a pale grey sky. Foreground reeds catch soft light while the shadowed banks recede into muddy brown.
The palette stays restrained - straw gold and brown against muted grey and pale white fog - with light diffused into a soft, luminous glow. Brushwork is precise and detailed among the reeds, softening into atmospheric blur toward the trees, a realist technique that produces a serene, quiet stillness.
