A single thin trunk with a forking branch runs vertically through the center of a tall canvas, set against a mottled field flecked with small marks in grey, blue, ochre and rust. No leaves, ground or sky are clearly defined; the tree reads as a faint, dissolved presence within an all-over field of texture.

The surface is built from countless small dabs, spatters and scraped patches in pale, chalky tones, punctuated by darker specks and a few warmer rust-colored passages toward the lower corners. The trunk itself is painted thinly, in soft brown-grey, barely separated from the busy ground around it. The overall effect is quiet and weathered, like a close look at lichen-covered bark.
