Two nude models

Two nude women recline head-to-toe across rumpled fabric: one lies on a cream-and-orange sheet, dark hair loose, one hand raised near her cheek, white cloth draped over her hips; the second lies inverted below, arm raised overhead, legs bent with feet lifted near the first woman's head. Only rich blue, orange, and mauve drapery fills the background.

Flesh is modeled smoothly in warm, even light, set against deep saturated blue shadows in the fabric folds. Brushwork stays tight and blended on the bodies, looser and more textured in the drapery. The vivid, cropped composition and inverted pairing of figures give a dramatic, sensuous intensity within an otherwise classical nude study.
