About this work
A gas-masked figure in a hooded protective suit stands in the foreground, working a remote-control device with both gloved hands. Behind and above, several crushed and overturned cars hang suspended in mid-air around a tall black pillar, debris and small objects scattered between them as if frozen in an explosion.
Rendered in tight graphite-style hatching on warm cream paper, the drawing sets a single flat black bar against finely shaded metal wreckage, heightening the sense of levitation and impact. The impossible floating cars and masked, faceless figure create a surreal, unsettling tension somewhere between disaster and stopped time.
