About this work
A young man in a hooded jacket with a backpack slung over one shoulder stands over a bicycle, gripping the handlebars with one hand while the other rests loosely at his side. One foot is planted on the pedal, the other on the ground, as he pauses mid-stride beside the parked bike.
The graphite drawing is built with loose, economical strokes that suggest the jacket's folds and the bicycle's frame without heavy finishing, leaving much of the paper bare around the figure. The light, sketch-like handling gives the scene a quick, observational, everyday feel.
