About this work

Warm orange light spreads across the road surface and up into the surrounding trees and bushes, catching overhead wires and a second, dimmer pole in the distance, while the road itself recedes into shadow in the foreground.
A deep indigo sky sets off the warm orange glow, with silhouetted trees pressing in from both sides. Paint is applied softly, blurring edges between light and dark, and the quiet, empty composition gives the scene a calm, solitary, faintly wistful stillness.
