About this work
A polished brass samovar topped by a blue-and-white teapot dominates a table laid with a patterned cloth; beside it stand a woven basket of peaches and apples, loose tomatoes and peaches, a small blue jar, and a tall green glass. Yellow daisy-like flowers and red rowan clusters flank the samovar, with a birch trunk at left and a lake and forested hills visible behind.
Warm ochre and copper tones of the samovar stand against cool blues and greens of the tablecloth, water and foliage, unified by loose, textured brushwork.
