About this work
A clear glass ball balances in the forked branches of a white-blossoming tree, its striped surface catching reflections of the garden around it. Flanking trees, also covered in white blossom, and a single dark, needle-leaved conifer rise behind, with scattered small yellow flowers dotting the grass at the base of the trunks.
The whole scene is washed in cool teal-blue and mint-green, with white blossom picked out in thick, dabbed impasto against the softer, blended foliage. Muted light and the uniform blue-green cast flatten the space into a hazy, dreamlike garden, the glass ball's faint gleam the single crisp accent in an otherwise soft, atmospheric spring scene.
