About this work
Two sleeping figures, wrapped together in a rumpled blanket, stretch across the foreground at a scale that dwarfs the high-rise apartment block filling the background. One curls inward against a pillow while the other's bare arm stretches toward the edge; a vertical row of Cyrillic letters spelling 'MIR' runs down the left side of the building.
The whole scene is painted in cool blues and teals, punctuated by the warm oranges and yellows of scattered lit windows and small glimpsed interiors.
