About this work
The composition is a tight, frontal crop of urban street furniture: a round red-and-blue no-stopping sign above a tow-truck warning plaque, a tall grey traffic-light post fitted with three bicycle-icon signals, and blue directional street signs behind. A yellow-and-green striped mesh barrier and construction fencing fill the lower foreground.
Flat, precisely outlined shapes in red, blue, yellow and grey are set against a pale, hazy sky and softened background buildings, giving the scene a crisp, graphic clarity. The careful rendering of stickers, wires and worn surfaces on the signage adds a documentary, matter-of-fact quality to this ordinary corner of the city.
