About this work
Three semi-abstract figures, rendered in cool grey-blue tones, huddle together in a bent, twisting cluster: one arches backward with an arm flung wide, another curls low with head bowed, and a third leans forward gripping the second with an open hand. Their bodies overlap into a single mass, feet planted on a flat grey ground beneath a saturated red backdrop.
The figures are modeled with soft, wiped charcoal-like shading over paint, giving their forms a sculptural volume against the flat, poster-like red field. The high contrast between the muted grey bodies and the intense red ground, along with the tangled poses, produces a tense, dramatic charge, as if the group were caught mid-collapse or mid-embrace.
