About this work
A single tree stands at the center, its pale trunk rising from a rounded green mound to support a huge, dome-shaped canopy that glows from green at the base into deep blue at the top. Around the mound, dense thickets of stylized trees, flowers and foliage are rendered in fine linear patterns against a near-black ground.
Countless fine drawn lines build the textures of leaves, bark and undergrowth, while glowing bands of green, teal and blue give the canopy an almost radiant, otherworldly light. The graphic, print-like technique and dreamlike scale of the central tree create a mysterious, fable-like atmosphere.
