About this work
Two children stand side by side against a loosely brushed teal-and-olive backdrop streaked with drips and scribbles. On the left a boy with tousled fair hair peers out from behind spread fingers, one eye visible through the gap; on the right an older girl in a striped shirt covers her whole face with both hands, hiding completely.
Skin tones are painted in warm peach against the cool, scratched-in background, and the two poses read as a game of peekaboo caught mid-play. Loose, gestural marks and visible underdrawing give the scene a raw, spontaneous energy, half playful and half unsettling.
