About this work
A large octopus lies draped across the closed lid of an ornate grand piano, its bulbous head resting on top while long tentacles spill down over the keyboard, wind around the carved legs, and pool in loose coils on the floor beneath. The piano stands isolated in an otherwise empty, sparsely marked space.
Crisp black contour lines define the octopus's smooth skin and the piano's polished curves with minimal interior shading, leaving broad areas of bare white paper.
