About this work
Two figures occupy a shallow, indistinct interior: in the foreground a form crouches low on the floor, dark trousers and a loosely draped pink-and-lilac wrap over the shoulders, head turned away from the viewer; behind and to the left, a second, fainter figure sits in a pale blue garment, its outline dissolving into the surrounding haze.
The palette is almost entirely pale lavender, gray, and dusty blue, broken by touches of rose and cream where light catches the fabric and skin. Oil and pastel are blended together so that edges soften and forms seem to emerge from mist rather than being drawn, producing a quiet, dreamlike stillness suited to a private, unposed moment of rest.
